Description:
Artist impression Watercolour showing aerial view of family plots. The illustrations created to promote a national memorials company and their new family plots.
Concept:
The client required a series of illustrations to support the launch of a new service offering—hedged family plots. Three scenes were commissioned: one aerial overview and two more intimate views focusing on individual family plots, each incorporating personal details to convey a sense of care and individuality.
Styling:
A watercolour aesthetic was chosen to reflect the sensitivity and respectful tone required for the client’s profession. Technical plans were used to accurately guide plot layout, composition, and perspective, ensuring the illustrations remained both emotive and grounded in real-world detail.
Notes:
The artwork was produced using digital tools such as Wacom tablet and digital watercolour software Rebelle to replicate the softness and nuance of traditional watercolour, while retaining the practical advantages of digital production. This approach allowed for efficient revisions and greater flexibility, making the process more cost-effective than traditional methods.
