Description:
Cover illustration for a solar industry magazine scrutinising a new emerging solar cell technology perovskite.
Concept:
The client required a visual representation of a new development in the solar industry: Perovskite solar cells entering the global market. As the technology was still in early adoption and existed in multiple variations, the illustration needed to remain intentionally generic while conveying scientific credibility. A strong scientific perspective was essential to align with the editorial focus of the cover story.
Styling:
Following discussion of several visual approaches, a generic cell structure was selected from multiple references. The final direction was a polished, highly realistic illustration with a scientific aesthetic, reinforcing accuracy, innovation, and technical depth.
Notes:
The illustration using SketchUp software and Adobe Photoshop presents a close-up view of a perovskite cell under microscopic observation. This composition reinforces the idea of scrutiny and research, directly reflecting the investigative nature of the cover story.
