Concept:
A U.S. based marine power manufacturer required a detailed super-yacht cutaway to showcase its products in situ. The marketing team commissioned a fully functional 3D model that could be repurposed across multiple marketing applications. Each power product was positioned in its typical location on the vessel, with the model designed to allow individual components to be shown or hidden as required. This enabled the creation of bespoke renders tailored to specific products.
Additionally, the brief specified that each product needed to be viewable from four standard perspectives: front-left, front-right, rear-left, and rear-right.
Styling:
The commission focused on producing a clean, accurate 3D model for client-side rendering. The image shown was rendered by Planet using SketchUp and third-party rendering software, demonstrating the flexibility and visual quality of the model.
Notes:
Developing the technical illustration as a 3D model provided significant advantages, including the ability to generate multiple viewpoints, create product-specific imagery, and accommodate future updates in a highly cost-effective way.
